We recently took the kids to the local splash pad. They always love it and have a great time, and with it being close to sunset I knew we’d get some gorgeous pictures. This was one of my favorite images as I love how carefree my daughter is just running through the water. I shot this with my 15mm fisheye lens as I wanted to use a wide angle to really capture the environment, and a fisheye always provides for some fun distortion that adds a great lifestyle feel. I stopped down my lens to f/5.6 because I wanted the whole scene in focus, as well as keeping detail in the sky, and upped my shutter speed to 1/320 to freeze the motion of the water. I am entering this in Rock the Shot’s August photo challenge “Water” as it is such a great resource for photographers. Be sure to check it out for lots of great information and tips.
