Anytime I can find an excuse to head up to Lake Erie and do a session on the beach, I’ll happily take it. After having so much fun doing beach sessions up there last year, I had hoped I’d make it up there again this year. After almost a month of rain my local lake closed down for two weeks due to flooding, which left us with the perfect excuse to move this session up north. It is a drive but so, so worth it. The way the sun sets over the water is stunning and from looking at these pictures, you would never know we weren’t at the ocean. Shooting by the water is one of my absolute favorite places to be.
Meet the Weinhardt Family. They contacted me early spring because they wanted a mix of engagement and family pictures in celebration of their upcoming wedding. They decided as a fun move to do a destination wedding to Mexico so the location seemed even more fitting for their wedding. We spent the evening by the water with lots of splashing and playing. As with any beach session, if you don’t come home soaked, you didn’t do it right.
They changed into some Hawaiian attire to get some fun pictures to use for their wedding. Their daughter decided right at that moment (as most young children do) she was no longer going to sit by and watch all the fun and was going to be a part of the action. This resulted in a game of tag, where we would set her down and quickly run to take as many pictures as we could before she would reach us, then repeat all over again. We probably looked pretty humorous to all the people sitting on the beach that night. Even with all those chaos, we had a great time and I am loving all the moments we captured.
