I met Kathleen almost two years ago and it felt like fate. It was a beautiful day and I decided last minute to try out a new playground that we had never been to. While the kids were playing, I noticed this sweet Mom who would smile every time I happened to glance in her direction. We ended up chatting and struck up an instant friendship. We continued to meet up at the playground on occasion but then lost touch over time. So I couldn’t have been more excited when she contacted me out of the blue to take maternity and newborn pictures of her new little one on the way.
We met up on a Saturday morning at sunrise. I had stumbled across this location in the fall and had been saving it for just the right session and this one was definitely it. It’s tucked away off the Hoover Trail in North Canton and so quiet and secluded. The light that morning was absolutely incredible. It gave off this gorgeous pinkish-orange haze and yet was still soft and beautiful.
What I love about this session is the connection. The snuggles, little touches and looks totally gets me. There are so many sweet moments it’s hard to pick a favorite from this session. Even though it was super cold, this family braved it and totally rocked their session. We got tons of pictures I love in about 20 minutes flat. And Kathleen’s lace shawl gives just the perfect detail and texture to her pictures. And of course, snow! I have so few families who will head outside during the winter and yet the result is absolutely breathtaking. The light just bounces off the snow in such a beautiful way.
They chose not to find out what they are having, which I think is so fun! Can’t wait to meet this little one in March.
