One of my goals moving into this year was wanting to find a way to give all my families a voice. While I love sharing your sessions, I’ve always wanted to share more. Some of my families have had some really, unique stories but I’ve always struggled with what was okay for me to share so I’ve held back in an effort to respect privacy. However I started brainstorming a way to include more from all of you and came up with something I am really excited about, which is blog posts written by you! This gives you full control of what I can share and tells a little more of your story, which I love.
So starting this new tradition, is the Danilowicz Family! I met them for the first time this past fall and just loved their energy. They were up for anything and I loved the connection between them and the excitement they had as they were waiting to meet their daughter. This night was extra special because I was trying out a new location and we were treated to the most gorgeous sunset that night. Read on to hear more of their words about what this session meant to them and then scroll down to see all the gorgeous moments from this sweet maternity session.
Why did you book this session? Was there something going on in your family that you wanted to document?
We booked the session because we were so excited to welcome our first child. We decided that we wanted very beautiful photographs to document both the pregnancy and some of our daughter’s early moments. We saw some of Stephanie’s photos on her website and loved how she captured the couples and the babies in such beautiful settings. So we booked a package for maternity and newborn photos sessions.
How did you feel during the session?
During our first session, we had chosen our location from the suggestions Stephanie had provided. We had never been there, but we immediately fell in love with the park as we drove in. It had high hills offering amazing views of the surrounding landscape. It was cold but we were happy to ignore it because we had such great luck with the gorgeous sunset we had to work with, especially considering it was autumn in Ohio. We hiked from one spot to the other capturing multiple views of the background and sweeping hills behind us getting into various poses all while utilizing a breathtaking sunset. It was really magical how the whole session unfolded.
Was there a favorite moment or image from your session? If so, which one and why?
I think our favorite image is a simple shot of the two of us walking towards the camera with the sunset behind us. We were both looking towards each other but slightly downward, each with a smile like we had a secret we weren’t going to share with anyone but each other. With her pregnant belly, a viewer can easily surmise what we were so happy about. It was genuine and sweet, and we now have a large photo of that image framed and hanging in our living room that we will cherish forever!
Looking back on the pictures from your session now, how do they make you feel?
It makes us feel so blessed to have our beautiful daughter. We feel the love we shared and that joy and anticipation from that period in our lives when we look at those photos.
What was your favorite part of working with me?
We liked that Stephanie knew how to direct us and always made us feel comfortable. We are not professional models and didn’t really know how to pose, but Stephanie helped us into position and we really trusted that she would make us look really good. She also knew how to make use of the setting and the sunset that faded fast.
Is there anything else you want to include about your session?
We loved our photo session with Stephanie and we will enjoy the photos we have for the rest of our lives. We look forward to the day when our daughter is old enough that we can share these images with her and show her how her mommy and daddy were so excited to meet her. Stephanie made us look so beautiful and we are so happy we chose to work with her.
