What a winter this has been for Northeast Ohio. Sixty degree temperatures, barely any snow, it really hasn’t been very “winter-like”. While I am certainly not complaining, my poor kids have been dying for a good snow day. Thankfully this week they finally got their wish. We got our first big snow storm and they were so excited to get out and play. Even my husband got to work from home that day so he was able to come out with us for a little bit and join the fun. Here they are getting all bundled up before heading outside. My settings weren’t quite right for this shot, but it was the only opportunity I got to get a picture of them looking so adorable and cuddled up so I’ll take it. Sometimes I have to be a Mom more than a photographer.
Nathaniel saw a kids shovel in a store over a month ago and has been patiently waiting for the opportunity to get out and shovel the driveway with Dada. The first week after we bought it, he would ask everyday to go out and shovel but of course, there was no snow. So the first thing he did once he got out was grab his shovel and get to work. I love his little helper attitude! Even at four years old, he actually did a pretty good job too. Look at him go!
Abigail grabbed a toy shovel and decided she was going to help as well, but got bored quickly and took to walking the street, pretending to shovel the snow as she went.
Once all the shoveling was done, I somehow managed to get the most adorable picture of the two of them together. I love when they’ll actually pose nicely together. It happens so rarely.
And we can’t forget about the new baby brother coming early this summer.
Of course, we did the typical snow day activities as well. They played in the snow, made snow balls, and built a snowman. Something they’ve been wanting to do for awhile. Abigail threw a little bit of a fit because she wanted to build the snowman “all by myself!”, but thankfully got over it and still had fun. Isn’t that just the life of a two year old? Wanting so much independence before they are fully ready for it. Afterwards we headed in and made hot chocolate. What a great day!
