Oh, this session. We had scheduled in advance, location picked, everyone ready to go, and the weather decided to play games. I started noticing a few days out it was calling for rain. No biggie, this is Ohio after all. The night before, still not looking good so I sent an email out just as a heads up we may need to reschedule. The morning of the session I checked and everything looks great. I figure we’re good to go but then it proceeds to change EVERY. SINGLE. HOUR. I think I lost count of how many emails we exchanged back and forth trying to decide whether to reschedule.
In the end we decided to go with it and met at Springfield Bog Metro Park in Akron, Ohio. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite locations to shoot at because it’s so rustic and there are so many fun areas to play with. We didn’t have gorgeous light that night, but we had fun all the same, and I love the connection and sweet moments we were able to get. And while overcast skies aren’t usually my favorite, I love the blue tones and dramatic vibe it gives this session.
This session was scheduled as Miss Grace’s six month milestone session, although we used it as a family session as well. She wasn’t too sure about me or my camera at first, but I’d like to think I won her over in the end. Her big brother is equally adorable, and I had a blast with these guys. Not to mention what great troopers they were when the rain started to come in and out at the end of our session, which the forecast had assured me wouldn’t happen by the way.
