When I walked into my Belden Village studio that afternoon, I had no idea this would be my last session here. Or that just four short days later I’d be packing up and moving to a new location. Life (and God) are funny like that. We worked through the fall setting up the space, but when the time came to finally start sessions there I quickly realized it wasn’t working the way I had imagined for me or for my families. I kept trying to tweak it here and there, but couldn’t shake this feeling that it wasn’t the right spot and the more sessions I did there, the louder that voice got.
So when a gorgeous storefront opened up just five minutes from my house in North Canton, I couldn’t resist the urge to check it out. I told myself, “Absolutely not” over and over, ran the numbers, prayed a TON and found myself three days later signing the lease. God somehow worked out all the little details and the next day I was moved into my new space.
But as for my last session there? I couldn’t be happier with all the sweet moments we were able to capture that afternoon. Meet Baby Lucia, just six weeks old and so adorable. She was named after a character from the Max Lucado book, “You Are Special”. Lucia was a Wemmick who loved her maker and knew he loved her, so much so that she didn’t care what the other Wemmicks thought of her. When they would try to put stickers on her to judge her, they would fall right off because she only cared about what her maker thought of her and how he loved her and saw her as special. Talk about a beautiful namesake to give your little girl!
What I absolutely love about this session is all the sweet moments. Little Lucia being an “older” newborn gave such sweet smiles and yawns, and made the best eye contact. She seemed especially fascinated with Dad, who really brought out the giggles. And the Mama moments just completely pull at my heartstrings. Even Big Brother got in on the fun counting fingers and toes, and giving kisses making this session so fun and sweet!
